Ellie RIP

 23 June 2010 to 26 January 2026

Aren't I sweet

I just have to keep on digging, and I'll get there eventually

Why do I have to be squashed in the front of this car?

How do I get at those ducks?

This snow stuff makes me go a bit mad

There's nothing better than a good sleep . . .

. . . a good view . . .

. . . a winter's dawn . . .

. . . a friend . . .

. . . a long walk on Dartmoor . . .

. . . a good paddle . . .

. . . having my picture taken . . .

. . . and being filmed

  2. I am so sorry. I have not been looking forward to this post as you’d said previously she was not doing well. I know you will be devastated but what a life you and Frog gave her. Lots of lovely memories. Take care. Lots of love ๐Ÿงก

  3. I am so very sorry to read your news. You did flag that the time was coming, but being prepared doesn't alleviate this pain. Please take good care of yourself in this difficult time.

  5. No, although I often feel as though I know you. I'm Australian of West Country heritage, although when I lived in the UK, in the late 70s and early 80s, l lived in Kent. I miss the English countryside, but family ties are here. Today is over 40 degrees, the wind is getting up and the poor garden is wilting despite an early morning watering. So reading blogs and seeing the first snowdrops starting to appear soothes my soul.

  6. Lovely to hear about you, Beth. Whereabouts in Oz do you live? I was brought up in Kent so we have another connection. And as you might know from reading my recent blog series, I'm a Big Fan of Australia. x

  9. Really sad for you, but after a lovely long life we know when the time is right....and we allow our pet family a peace and dignity that we don't grant to humans. She was a beautiful girl.
